Course Objectives

Explore This 1-credit ceu AOM course explaining why it is beneficial to include TCM in the birth process. The course provides an overview of  techniques, patient screening and management, safety precautions for specific points and populations, adverse event management, and the benefits of incorportaing TCM in the birthing process. In each sub-topic, this course delves deeper into specific situations to prepare practitioners for a step-by-step approach to ensure safety is a top concern, and with careful planning and foresight, issues are mitigated and transformed into a positive and forward-looking outcome.

Dr. Debra Davies, DACM, Dipl. OM, L.O.M., is an internationally recognized acupuncturist,
educator, and mentor specializing in women’s health and perinatal acupuncture. With over 25
years of clinical experience and 15 years in academic and continuing education roles, she
integrates Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern perinatal care. Dr. Davies lectures, hosts
conferences, and develops CEU programs across the U.S. and internationally, inspiring
practitioners to deliver trauma-informed, whole-person care throughout the childbearing journey.
